Party Planning Ideas For A First Birthday Party
Don’t Overdo the Guest List One common mistake that parents make for their child’s first birthday party is inviting too many guests. This can really result in overwhelming the child and upsetting them. They are probably not used to being around a big crowd of people. It is a general idea to keep the first birthday party as close relatives only, and maybe a few friends that are around the same age. Just make sure that you don’t invite too many and upset them causing them to be in shock at their birthday party. Get a Smash Cake When you are getting their birthday cake, also plan to get a “smash cake” that is smaller than the regular cake. Some people even choose to use a cupcake. This will give you the chance to give them the cake and let them go at it. It makes for some really cute pictures, and it is really fun to watch them digging into their first birthday cake. Having the second cake ensures that everyone else gets a piece of cake before the baby starts digging into theirs. Just remember, candles may not be a good option on the cake because they may get excited and accidentally touch the flame! Keep it Short and Sweet Planning a child’s first birthday party is not really hard at all; in fact you really don’t have to plan a lot of activities. The shorter the party, the better. They will probably start to get very overwhelmed at the party, and the sooner that it is over they can get a much needed nap after all of the excitement. Don’t worry about them not having a great time, a short party will actually mean that they have a much better time. If it’s too long, they may get tired and fussy. Also, don’t plan it around their usual nap time! Take Lots of Pictures This is a day that you will want to cherish forever. The day your baby turns a year old is really special and important. It is a turning point in their childhood life, and you will want plenty of pics to look back on and remember it by. Take pictures of them dressed up for the party, opening their gifts, digging into their smash cake, and even playing after the party is said and done. You can even make an album and show them when they get older so that they can see what the day was like. Comments for this post are closed |
